Empire Magazine Provides New Glimpse At Atrociraptor In Jurassic World Dominion

In their brand-new issue for December of 2021, Empire Magazine have teased a brand new look at Jurassic World Dominion – promising that we can ‘buckle up for dino mayhem’. In the brand new photograph, we can see Owen being pursued by an Atrociraptor in the streets of Malta - giving us a further flavour of just how far these dinosaurs have come from the end of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

It is interesting to note that this pursuit is taking place in a public location. It means we are likely to get atleast a taste of how chaotic dinosaurs in cities and human environments may be - something which we weren’t sure we would previously get. It’s exciting to think about how we may see different interactions unfold given we already know we will also be seeing a Tyrannosaurus Rex gatecrash a outdoor cinema showing. It’s also worth noting the Empire article confirms the addition of the Pyroraptor - emphasising just how many new dinosaurs Dominion will be adding to the roster!

What other locations are you hopeful to explore? The opportunities really are endless! The excitement doesn’t end there, however, as we now wanted to take the time to break down the other new stills which we have received in recent weeks.

This joins a screenshot which Entertainment Weekly released earlier this week – providing us with a closer look at Owen Grady herding a Parasaurolophus in the Sierra Nevada mountain range – not a million miles away from the Lockwood Manor estate. An interesting note is the redesign of the Parasaurolophus here – something which director Colin Trevorrow later shared a closer look at one Social Media.

There were some interesting tidbits in this interview – showing us that Dominion is set to be a much wider-reaching story which lets us explore dinosaurs in several different environments. We recommend checking out the Entertainment Weekly article here.

This isn’t the only screenshot released recently – as we also got a closer look at Claire in a swamp environment being pursued by an animal which has now been confirmed to be the Therizinosaurus – a animal with incredibly large and sharp claws. We know that this is an animal which InGen never bred, so this emphasizes the idea of new animals and designs being a prolific problem within the world our characters are exploring.

It’s also worth checking out the Total Film article if you haven’t already as Colin teases a lot about the pacing of Jurassic World Dominion. You can read more by clicking here and checking out Games Radar’s coverage of this photo and article.

So – what does this all mean? From everything we’ve seen so far, we can assume that Jurassic World Dominion is going to be a globe-trotting adventure which doesn’t follow the traditional pacing we’ve come to expect from these types of films. We know we can expect new dinosaurs – and this probably means that companies like Mantah Corp (from Camp Cretaceous) or BioSyn will likely have stories to tell around the creation of dinosaurs. This, combined with the animals unleashed from Lockwood Manor, aims to show us that there is a wide range of deadly animals now interacting with our ecosystem.

We can also assume that we are going to see encounters with animals in several different environments and countries – which means something has happened since the events of Fallen Kingdom to ensure that these animals are more widespread across the globe. With themes like criminality hinted at in FK’s auction-room sequence, it is safe to say that we are intrigued by how the events between that movie and Dominion will be explained. It’s safe to say that everything we’ve seen so far looks great – and we can’t wait to explore more.
