Today, we wanted to highlight an exciting new Jurassic World fan film which friend of the podcast Dillon Brown (@DTDB35) has been working on recently through his production company, Horror Nerd Productions.

New World: A Jurassic World Fan Film is intended to take place after the events of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, and provides a sneak-peak at how the world in which we all live may have to adapt to deal with these vicious and dangerous predators becoming a part of the planet’s every-day ecosystem. It’s important to note that this entire piece was shot and produced during the COVID-19 Outbreak, so Dillon wanted to use this as a meta way to explore the real life topics which we are all dealing with currently, too.

The film explores the many dinosaur sightings which have been taking place across the country since the Lockwood Manor breakout, and provides a few different perspectives on the subsequent chaos which has unfolded. This is explored through Dillon’s character, who sets the scene and explains the nature of the world post-breakout, but is also explored through different set pieces filmed by Jurassic Fans. These include our friends Samantha Endres, Corey Anderson, Caleb Burnett and Michael Esola, and also Donny and Klemm. I was also lucky enough to get to appear briefly in the piece – so thanks to Dilly for making that possible!

New World is a fun adventure which gives us a sneak piece at how the world may adapt to dinosaurs becoming more prevalent – and it also highlights just how many interesting stories could be told in the wake of the second entry in the Jurassic World sequel. Hearing Dilly’s passion and vision for this story really excited me, as not only did it sound like a fantastic standalone piece, but it also now has my brain very much alive and excited by the possibilities of the new stories which may unfold in Jurassic World Dominion.

If you’re looking for a little Jurassic World fix between now and the next season of Camp Cretaceous in May, then this is it. Check it out below and make sure to head over to Dilly’s channel and subscribe, as we have a feeling that his endeavours into Jurassic film making may only just be beginning!
