As you can see above in a construction update via Alicia Stella of Orlando Parkstop, the waterfront has been receiving quite the upgrade to accommodate a brand new nighttime show to replace Universal's Cinematic Spectacular, which closed in the Fall last year. We said goodbye to the Jurassic Park elements of that show and now welcome in Jurassic World with Universal Orlando's Cinematic Celebration

Read the announcement below via Universal Orlando's website:

An epic new show is lighting up the night at Universal Studios Florida™ with a colossal celebration of music, water and light that transforms the park and takes you into the movies like never before. As music from the world’s biggest films fill the air, scores of shining, dancing fountains erupt. Massive walls of water blaze with incredible movie moments and powerful projections bring the entire waterfront into the movies. You’ll see and hear roaring dinosaurs from Jurassic World, feel the adrenaline rush of high-speed cars from Fast & Furious, watch the mischievous antics of the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me, and so much more. Don’t miss the amazing new show that’s making nights at Universal Studios™ brighter and bolder than ever.

Some more details have come our way via the Orlando Sentinel, detailing the length of the show, some of the technical aspects and other properties included.

“From a content standpoint, we’re moving away from Universal Pictures and really wanting to celebrate the brands that the guests encounter at Universal Orlando,” he said. The show, clocking in at almost 20 minutes, will include blocks devoted to the “Despicable Me” minions, “Jurassic World,” DreamWorks animation, “Harry Potter” and more

If you've frequented any stateside Disney Parks, the show style may sound familiar, as elements have been featured in shows like World of Color (Disney California Adventure), Fantasmic (Disneyland & Disney's Hollywood Studios) and Rivers of Light (Disney's Animal Kingdom). Basically you'll be watching show elements on giant streaks of water flowing through the sky. It's a blast to watch, while also sometimes being difficult to see due to wind speeds. In Universal's case, upwards of 6500 people will be able to witness this show nightly:

“The guests are going to stand in Central Park,” Aiello said. “They’re going to look across the lagoon facing New York and they will now see a fountain grid of over 120 fountains … straight jets, moving jets, water screen media fountains as well.”

I'm very excited to see Jurassic World come to life in the Universal Parks - We can't wait to cover it for you! Will you be heading to Universal Orlando this summer to see the show? Let us know in the comments below.
