2018 was not just the year of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it was also the year of Jurassic World Evolution; with 2019 getting into gear, it looks like 2019 will continue to be a hit for the team behind the game.
It’s safe to say that Jurassic World Evolution was divisive. The game, overall, performed incredibly well – with people from across the gaming community praising its crisp graphics and its fantastic dinosaur models. Fans of the Jurassic World franchise were treated to a real masterclass in 3D games assets – with beautiful models like the Velociraptor, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brachiosaurus all coming to life. The game really held its own – but some individuals were still longing for more – akin to something like Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis with the breadth and depth of content which has kept Jurassic fans playing for years.
Well, if the recent report broken first by our friends at IGN is any indicator, then there is plenty more to come for Jurassic World Evolution – with the videogame crossing the 2 Million Units sold mark; a massive achievement for Frontier Developments!
Quoting from the article, Frontier’s CEO, David Braben, said the following:
I don’t know about you – but that last bit has me excited!
However, the good news does not stop there – as the team at frontier have been nominated for several categories in the MCV Awards! The MCV Awards are a yearly awards ceremony celebrating the best and the brightest in the UK gaming industry. Games companies responsible for some of the biggest hits compete for coveted awards each year – so seeing Frontier appear so frequently truly is fantastic! They have been nominated for the following categories:
Marketing Team of the Year
In-House PR Team of the Year
Community Management of the Year
Gaming Campaign of the Year – Over £500k Budget
These are all fantastic categories to see Frontier gunning for top spot in! The team have been doing a fantastic job interacting with the community since the debut of Evolution – so it is great to see those efforts recognised.
We wish the team the best of luck, and are excited to see what they do in the future!
