Jurassic fans are lucky. The Jurassic Park and Jurassic World community is full of uniquely talented individuals who put all their passion and energy into this fandom. Whether it be the insanely cool fan-made posters of Nima Neemz, the awesome Jurassic Explorer made by fans for us to enjoy, or reviews, Let’s Plays and more – everyone puts there all into elevating this fandom. It is that commitment and dedication that has me excited to be talking about a new fan film built on these very principles – Jurassic World: Exodus.

Created by Gregory Wong, the fan film promises high-octane action mixed with intense dinosaur action as we return to Isla Nublar for one final journey. Set before the eruption of Mount Sibo that we all witnessed in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the fan short has a lot of potential. So, with that in mind, I decided to get in touch with Gregory, to pick his brains about the upcoming fan piece.

Tom: What made you want to create a new Jurassic fan project?

Gregory: Got to make one before. Wanted to do another because why not?

Tom: Before this project, you worked on Jurassic World: Asset Containment Unit. How much of what you learned to make that film came in handy here?

Gregory: Lots of what I learned when making the ACU film came in handy when making Exodus. I learned a lot with that film!

Tom: Can you tell us the basic plot of Jurassic World: Exodus?

Gregory: A United States Air Force Special Operator is deployed to Isla Nublar alongside a Seismologist for a mission. Whilst on Nublar, the pair get lost – and a recovery team need to be deployed to extract them from the island before something happens to them.

Tom: From the teases we’ve seen so far, the project looks massive in scale. How did you go about organising that?

Gregory: We were lucky – we got a lot of help getting different resources from various folks and companies on the island where we filmed. Just wait till you see some of the things in the film – there are para-motors and a C-130 in this fan film!

Tom: In this project, you have awesome YouTubers like Garand Thumb, and fantastic actors like Jamie Costa. How did you go about forming your crew?

Gregory: I’m friends with a lot of the guys already, so I just asked if they would like to be involved, and then found days which worked for them. It got a little hectic at times, but I feel it was worth it!

Tom: A big part of the project is a Velociraptor puppet – how was it working with that?

Gregory: It was super awesome having the raptor – it added a lot to the overall film. Truthfully, I wish we had done more with it – and that is something which I may work on adding before the film releases!

Tom: When can fans watch this film?

Gregory: It releases in July this year.

So, there you have it guys – Jurassic World: Exodus releases this month! Are you guys excited? Gregory’s previous film was a lot of high-octane, fast-paced ACU fun – so I am excited to see how Exodus turns out. The addition of the raptor is awesome, and there are some really, awesome faces in this film – including people I have watched on YouTube for a long time! Look out for the film on Gregory’s YouTube Channel very, very soon.

In the meantime, we have some awesome BTS pictures and a Velociraptor puppet test for you to enjoy below. Thanks for reading – and we’ll catch you in another article very, very soon!
